The outflow in numbers of natives from North Eastern States residing in Karnataka came down drastically today even as police arrested three more persons for allegedly sending disturbing SMSs taking the total arrested to 16.The city witnessed fleeing of thousands of people from Northeast, both students and workers, for home over the fear that they could be attacked in the aftermath of the Assam riots following circulation of an SMS.The flow of people coming to the city railway station died down today after at least 28,000 people, packed in several special trains run during the last three days, fled the city.Today, the South Western Railways sold just 300 tickets to the Northeast, including 240 to Guwahati, and accommodated them in the Yesvantpur-Howrah Express leaving from the suburban railway station.Director General of Police Lalrokhuma Pachau told newsmen that the situation was 'completely normal' in Bangalore and there was absolutely no need for the people from Northeast to fear.Speaking to reporters, he said normalcy had returned to the city and all measures to protect the lives of the affected had been ensured.
