Title - FCI derail railmen 3-1

Food Corporation of India (FCI) SC defeated NF Railway SC 3-1 in today's match of the Abhishek Motors Pvt Ltd RG Baruah Trophy GSA Super Division Football League at Nehru Stadium's Turf I here. The railmen dominated the proceedings through the entire first half and almost midway into the second session till the FCI men came back strongly to clinch the match. Striker Sibra Narzary fashioned the lead for NF Railway in the 32nd minute. Conceding the goal, the FCI men made some effort to restore parity but their moves were tackled by the Railway defence. Birtwm Basumatary finally drew parity for FCI, netting the ball from inside the goal box in the 65th minute. Midfielder Edenthara also ruffled the net in a similar fashion to put FCI ahead in the 73rd minute. Kailash Gogoi capitalised on a lapse by Railway goalkeeper N. Ingo Singh to hammer the final nail into the coffin in the 89th minute. Gauhati Town Club will play Assam Police Blues tomorrow. 1st division league: Maharana Athletic Club defeated Abutani Sports Club 2-1 in their match of the Green Valley Travels Pvt Ltd Jibeswar Goswami GSA first division league on the second turf of Nehru Stadium here today. Striker Mahabir Ekka drew first blood with a 36th minute goal and Rengma Basumatary consolidated the lead for Maharana with another goal in the 57th minute. Newson Kom fired in the only salvo for Abutani in the 82nd minute. Rajbari AC will meet Green Valley SC in tomorrow's match.
