With delay in the government accepting their demand for higher compensation, farmers in Mandya district have decided to obstruct line doubling work on the Bangalore-Mysore railway line. They are also planning to approach court demanding suitable compensation besides taking up cultivation activities in the acquired land. Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha convener K.S. Nanjunde Gowda said, “We have decided to stop work if the authorities concerned fail to pay at least Rs. 80 lakh per acre.” |
