Title - Emergency care to retired railway employees

Retired railway employees will be able to get treatment in emergencies --a cash-less service for Railway Employees Liberalised Health Scheme (RELHS) cardholders to take treatment in recognised private hospitals.

The Ministry of Railways, after careful consideration in the matter, has decided to extend the facility for RELHS beneficiaries to take care of their health care needs in an acute emergency.

This scheme is now available in all Metros, State Capitals and Zonal Railway Headquarters in Indian Railways, according to the Assistant General Secretary of All India Railwalymens’ Federation (AIRF) and General Secretary of East Coast Railway Shramik Union (ECoRSU) Ch. Gandhi.

The emergency conditions include - acute cardio arrest, vascular catastrophes, cerbo-vascular accidents, acute respiratory, acute abdomen problems, life threatening injuries, acute poisoning and snake bite, acute renal failure, severe infections leading to death and other conditions which lead to death. Mr. Gandhi further demanded the Railway Ministry extend the same facility to the Divisional headquarters .

This issue would also be raised in the GM’S conference to be held on August 3 at New Delhi .
