Title - Electronic Interlocking work at Panki station completed by North Central Railway

North Central Railway has completed work of Yard remodelling and Electronic interlocking work at Panki station on September 23. Panki station comes under Allahabad Division of NCR. For yard remodelling a traffic block of 4 hours was taken which according to North Central Railway is a record of its own kind. 

Electronic Interlocking will allow control of train operation through Visual Display Units thereby enhancing safety and ease of operation. Panki  electronic interlocking has facilitated extension of PF 1,3 and 4 at Kanpur Central Station. 

Benefits of Panki electronic interlocking - 

• Faster reception of trains. 
• Simultaneous movements in ‘UP’ direction via Main and third line. 
• Safety enhancement measures. 
• Better control to station master who can now clearly see movements of train. 
• Improvement in punctuality of trains. 
• Dismantling of 05 cabins will save around 30 staff. 
• Trains can be operated at greater speeds.
