Title - ECoR presents future work plan to govt

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) today gave a presentation of its comprehensive master plan to the State Government.

The presentation given by Indra Ghosh, GM, ECoR on infrastructure development, double-laning of tracks of different rail routes, automatic signalling system, laying of a third track and other facilities, in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat here.

The meeting discussed about three-phase modernization programme of Bhubaneswar Railway Station, linking of the third track to different platforms, construction of second entrance gate of Bhubaneswar Railway Station facing the Cuttack Road, construction of fifth and sixth platforms and multi-story parking complex, expansion of coach complex and four-laning of tracks between Barang and Khurda Road. Besides, double laning of Ghantikhal Nidhipur-Naraj Marthapur, Naraj Marthapur-Barang, Cuttack-Barang and Delang-Puri route was also discussed.

The meeting also discussed about the proposed modernization of Puri Railway Station in view of the Navakalebar festival in Puri scheduled in 2015.

The Chief Minister complemented ECoR for the comprehensive master plan for both Bhubaneswar and Puri Railway Station.

However, the assistance required from the State Government was spelt out and the same will be submitted to the State Government in a formal proposal.

Among others, Commerce and Transport Minister Subrat Tarai, Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Principal Secretary, Home, U N Behera, Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Secretary, Commerce and Transport, Puri Collector, Vice Chairman, BDA and senior ECoR officials were present at the meeting.
