FEROZEPUR: A book titled “ “Railway Land Management” and its hindi version “Railway Bhumi Parbandan Karoron kamane Ka Sarot” written by Rakesh Kumar, who is working as senior section engineer (works)/Land & Heritage in divisional rail manager, Ferozepur was today released by Naresh Goyal, DRM, Northern Railways, Ferozepur. DRM appreciated the publication of book by Rakesh Kumar which will be helpful for the Indian Railways in maintaining the land record and generating the revenue on giving it a practical approach. Railway Land is the biggest asset of Indian Railways. Railway owned 4.32 lacs hectares of land & is the second largest owner of land in the country after the Defence forces. Rakesh Kumar, has twenty years field experience and presently working on divisional land policies. He has thwarted numbers of attempts of private parties and land mafia grabbing the railway land in Ferozepur Division. He has traced railway land worth crores of rupees from old Punjab State Government revenue record. He has also been awarded “Ministry of Railways National Award for outstanding work for protecting the Railway Land during the year 2009. Speaking to the medial, Rakesh Kumar said that this book will be a practical reference guide for railway staff and with the help of this book railway can manage railway land more effectively, protect and utilize it properly besides earning crores of rupees monthly from this asset. He further stated that this book will also be helpful to hundred others who are interested to establish projects on railway land under Private Public Participation (PPP) and also for revenue departments and engineers of other departments, as well as other world railways to know how Indian Railways manage its land. Rakesh Kumar is known for his honesty in the railways and has been awarded various cash and citation. |
