Title - Continuous derailments of trains puts a question mark over Railway safety and its operation

Today in another tragic incident of Vasco da Gama Patna express 13 coaches were derailed near Manikpur railway station leaving at least 4 passengers dead besides many injured. This was not the only accident occurred today.

In another accident of the day coal laden goods train also derailed near jagatsingpur in Odisha. 14 bogies of this train came of the track causing Railway huge financial loss.

 The point to be noted is that derailments are becoming more common in the recent past. This has raised some serious concern over the safety and methods of how railway operates in the country. Here is a list of few other derailments that occurs in the recent past -

 Ernakulam Lokmanya Tilak Duronto Express derailed on October 26 in Ratnagiri

 Seven coaches of a goods train derailed on October 4 on achhnera Mathura rail route 

 A goods train was derailed near nirgundi station in Odisha on September 27

 Two coaches of passenger train derailed in Agra on September 23

 Near Sitapur Cantt station a goods train engine jumped off the track on September 19

 The last coach of Jammu Rajdhani Express derailed at New Delhi railway station on September 14

 At Chennai Egmore Railway Station rail engine got derailed on September 11. This incident happened on platform number 1 of the station.

 At Jammu Railway Station and empty coach of Sealdah express derailed on September 10.

 On September 7, engine of Kashi Vishwanath Express derailed at New Delhi station.

On September 8, seven coaches of shaktipunj Express derailed near obra Dam station in Sonbhadra of Uttar Pradesh
