Title - Congress demands scrapping of token system at railway station - Times Of India

ALLAHABAD: A Congress delegation met the Railway Board chairman Vinay Mittal on Wednesday and handed over a memorandum to him demanding scrapping of token system in the ticket booking counter at city station side.

Congress leader Kishore Varshney said the Mittal was also told about the problems being faced by people on account of the above system. He said Mittal was also told about the fact that passengers often fail to get their reservation done even after waiting for hours in the queue.

Congressmen also demanded installation of an escalator at the Allahabad junction and revamping of the railway enquiry counter in wake of Mahakumbh.

They also demanded that more ticketing counters be set up for the public and unmanned railway crossings and arrangements be made for cleanliness and sanitation on the junction.
