Fiver persons were arrested at Pallipalayam for placing concrete slabs on railway tracks. All these five persons were opposing the ban on Jallikattu. 56101 Mettur Dam – Erode passenger hit the concrete slab placed along Anangoor – Cauvery Rail section. The loco pilot off the train immediately applied the brakes and the passenger came to halt with no damage done. After a delay of 30 minutes train was sent for the completion of its journey. Erode Railway Police registered a case under Section 150 (1) (a) (attempting to wreck a train by putting stone on railway track) of Indian Railways Act, 1989. M. Ranjith Kumar (23) of Korakattupallam in Pallipalayam, along with his four friends – M.S. Senthil Kumar, M. Santhana Krishnan, K. Subramani and M. Mani were arrested. |
