Title - Coming Up - 100 food plazas in Chennai Division

Rejoice for hungry commuters. In a time span of few months, Southern Railway is coming up with 100 food plazas in Chennai Division. Smaller suburban stations like Perambur carriage works, Pattaravakkam, Annanur and Korukkupet will get one of these food plazas.

Soon Chennai Division will float tenders for 80 caterers. Besides smaller suburban stations the plan is to also establish food plaza at Tiruvallikeni, Chepauk and Tirumailai stations. Among big stations, Chengalpet, Chennai Beach, Nungambakkam and Chennai Central will also get more food plazas.

By the end off this year, the target is to set up at least 100 food catering units where vegetarian food will be made available at controlled prices. The decision to install such catering units has been taken only after appropriate feedback from commuters.
