Bhopal: Senior citizens will be send-off with honour and respect at Habibganj railway station for pilgrimage of Rameshwaram under Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will greet senior citizens at the railway station. Culture, Religious Trusts and Endowment Minister Laxmikant Sharma was reviewing preparations for Teerth-Yatra Yojna at Mantralaya.The Culture Minister stated that identity cards, booklets containing information about Rameshwaram centre of pilgrimage and bouquets should be presented to each pilgrim. Leaders of various religions and sects will also be present at the time of sending off pilgrims at Habibganj railway station. A Bhajan programme will be held before the train leaves for journey. Employees of concerning districts will return only after pilgrims take seats reserved for them.It is noteworthy that residents of only Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions have been included in the maiden journey under Teerth-Darshan Yojna. Benefit of the scheme can be availed by senior citizens of 60 years of age or above who are residents of the state and are not taxpayers. The train will leave and return to Bhopal. Yatris will be selected by concerning district collectors. Entire responsibility of the journey will rest with IRCTC. During the journey, arrangements for food, team snacks, lodging and conveyance to and from pilgrimage in buses, guides etc will also be made. Arrangements have also been made to bring the pilgrims back to Bhopal and then send them to their respective destinations. Principal Secretary Religious Trusts and Endowment B.P. Singh, Secretary Ajit Kesri, Commissioner Bhopal Division Praveen Garg, Secretary Public Relations Rakesh Shrivastava, Bhopal collector Nikunj Shrivastava and other officers were also present on the occasion. |
