Title - CII delegates meet PM

A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to hand over the Puducherry Vision 2025 document prepared by them, a release said.Dr. Singh was briefed on initiatives of the CII, including its partnering with the Puducherry government for the Vision 2025 initiative, the release said.The Vision 2025 document portrays Puducherry as a model State in the year 2025, with a potential to emerge as an international destination for higher education, best-in-class wellness, spiritual and eco-tourism destination.A memorandum was also submitted seeking the Union government’s support in setting up manufacturing zones in IT and hardware, establishing an Indian Institute of Management in Puducherry, enhancing air, rail and road connectivity to Puducherry and allocation of additional power from the National Grid to meet the power shortage, the release said.
