Title - Chandy inaugurates flyover at Parappanangadi

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated a flyover named after the former Deputy Chief Minister Avukkadar Kutty Naha at Parappanangadi on Sunday. The flyover replacing the railway gate near the Parappanangadi railway station is the highest in the State.Minister for Public Works V.K. Ebrahim Kunju presided over the function. Minister for Education P.K. Abdu Rabb, E.T. Mohammed Basheer, MP, and several other politicians attended the function.The bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs.13.5 crore. It is the 23rd overbridge constructed by the Roads and Bridges Development Corporation.

Work opened

At a different function held at Angadipuram, the Chief Minister inaugurated the work of an overbridge there. Mr. Ebrahim Kunju presided over the function. Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed, Minister for Power Aryadan Mohammed, Minister for Urban Affairs Manjalamkuzhi Ali, T.A. Ahamed Kabeer, MLA, and district panchayat president Suhara Mampad spoke.The overbridge at Angadipuram will ease traffic congestion on the Palakkad-Kozhikode National Highway. The bridge is estimated to cost Rs.16.25 crore. Land acquisition for the bridge is under way. The Chief Minister said the flyover would be constructed in 15 months.

Mr. Chandy also inaugurated the work of the Kanhippura-Moodal bypass road at another function. The bypass is being constructed at a cost of Rs.25 crore.
