MUMBAI: In order to cater to huge rush of passengers to Konkan during the Ganesh festival, Central Railway (CR) has decided to run as many as 60 special trains for Madgaon next month.Passengers prefer to travel by Konkan bound regular trains from Mumbai - Konkan Kanya, Janshatabdi Express, Mandovi express, Netravati Express and Matsyagandha. However, it becomes difficult to find accommodation on any of these trains during the Ganesh Festival. A senior CR official said, "Hence, Central Railway has decided to run 38 daily reserved special trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus - Madgaon and 22 unreserved special trains, every alternate day, between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Madgaon to clear the extra rush of Passengers during Ganapati Festival."Mumbai-Madgaon-Mumbai daily special (reserved) will leave everyday from CST at 12.20 am from September 9 to October 3. It will reach Madgaon the same day at 2.10 pm. On its return journey, it will leave Madgaon at 2.40 pm from September 15 to October 3 and will aarrives CST at 5.15 am the following day."It will have halts at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarde, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilawade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali. |
