Title - Cabinet approves new railway line between Bagalkote-Kudachi

Karnataka Cabinet today approved laying of a 134 km new railway line between Bagalkote and Kudachi on cost sharing basis with the Railways, Minister for Primary and Higher Education Visveshwara Hegde Kageri said today. Briefing newsmen after Cabinet Meeting here, he said the State government would contribute Rs 408 crore with the railways chipping in an equal amount towards the cost of the project. He said the cabinet also approved release of Rs 20 crore out of the total dues of Rs 68 crore to the railways for gauge conversion works between Kolar and Chikaballapur. Mr Kageri said the cabinet also approved sanction of Rs 5.80 crore for a level crossing to be built in Bidar.
