Kolkata The South Eastern Railway authorities have decided to introduce a new colour scheme for all the EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) and MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) trains, running largely in the suburban areas. Incidentally, the colour scheme include “blue” among other combinations. Interestingly, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee likes blue colour and had declared the blue and white colour scheme for bridges, buildings and many other installations. The new colour scheme for SER trains will be implemented gradually as the rakes go for periodic overhaul at the Kharagpur workshop. So far, two EMU rakes and one MEMU have already been overhauled from the Kharagpur workshop with the new colour scheme. |
