A special train offering people insight into the country’s rich biodiversity as well as conservation methods, will chug into the State during September. It will make halts at Hubli and Bellary railway stations.The Science Express — Biodiversity Special exhibition on the train is scheduled to cover 220 stations across India from June 5 to December 22. It is to halt at Hubli station from September 3 to 6 and Bellary station from September 7 to 10.According to a statement issued by the Karnataka Biodiversity Board, the exhibition has been organised by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests, in connection with the 11th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, scheduled from October 8 to 19. A total of 194 countries, which are party to the convention, will be participating in the conference.Information on biodiversity and conservation is mounted on a specially designed 16-coach AC train.“The exhibition is open to all, primarily targeting students and teachers. It focusses on India’s rich biodiversity, climate change, energy and water conservation.
