Title - Bid to end life

A nursing student attempted to commit suicide by jumping in front of Nagercoil – Mumbai Express Train at Thatchanallur here on Friday.Police said S. Selvakumari (21) of Pottal near Srivaikuntam in Tuticorin district, a second year nursing student, who came to the railway track between Thatchanallur manned level crossing and the rail over bridge around 8 a.m. on Friday, tried to jump in front of Chennai – Tirunelveli Nellai Express train around 8.30 a.m. The attempt went in vain. Selvakumari ran towards Nagercoil – Mumbai Express train at 9 a.m. to kill herself. The loco pilot slowed down the train. Still the girl sustained injuries and has been hospitalised.
