Those travelling to Secundarabad in Andhra Pradesh from Dhanbad have a reason to rejoice. The railways will introduce a new train ' which will originate from Bihar's Darbhanga and pass through Dhanbad ' to the southeastern state from July 6, thus fulfilling a promise made in this year's rail budget. The bi-weekly Secundarabad-Dharbhanga Express (17008) will leave Darbhanga at 7am every Tuesday and Friday and reach Dhanbad at 4pm, where it will stop for 15 minutes before heading for Secundarabad. On its return journey, the train (17007) will depart from Secundarabad at 10pm every Monday and Tuesday and arrive at Dhanbad at 3.55am on Wednesday and Thursday after travelling for 30 hours. It will reach Darbhanga at 1pm. Senior divisional operating manager, Dhanbad, East Central Railway Ved Prakash said: "Before arriving at Dhanbad, it will halt at Barauni, Jhajha, Jasidih, Madhupur and Chitranjan and will finally proceed for Secundarbad via Bokaro, Muri, Ranchi, Rourkela, Jhasuguda, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Godia, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Balharsah, Sirpur Kaghaznagar, Manchiryal, Ramagundam and Kajirpet," he added. President of Chamber of Commerce of Dhanbad and member of Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee Rajiv Sharma said businessmen and students would be greatly benefited. |
