Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) wants all prominent trains passing through Baiyappanahalli to have stops at the railway station as more people can make use of the Metro services in the long run.Senior officials in the BMRCL urged chairperson of legislative council DH Shankaramurthy, who is also heading the house committee on Railways, to take up the issue at government level.Shankaramurthy, who visited metro works sites at Vidhana Soudha and KR Market on Wednesday, was briefed by the BMRCL officials about the project.“The BMRCL is doing a commendable job. They have adopted all available modern technology in tunnelling and other civil works. In the long run, metro will definitely help the city in reducing traffic on the road. During my visit, officials briefed about the ongoing work.During my visit to Baiyappanahalli station, they told me that if trains of the railways stops at the station, which is close to the Metro station, thousands of passengers will be benefited. We will take up the matter in the coming meeting of committee on railways and also call officials of the BMRCL to discuss the matter.“In the committee, there are legislators of both the houses. Once we decide on something, we will take up the matter at government level. Six months ago, we had held a meeting on a few railway projects in the state that are being delayed,” said Shanakaramurthy
