Autorickshaw drivers saw in Thursday's bandh a perfect opportunity to make a killing. The routine Rs 20-30 extra fare for a ride looked like peanuts on their big day. They were not ready to settle for anything less than Rs 100, especially at railway stations and inter and intra state bus stands, where passengers were stranded without BMTC services.
