Title - Bairabi-Sairang Rly will not be ready by 2014, says Lalthanhawla

Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister and President of Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Lalthanhawla said that the Bairabi-Sairang rail link will not be completed by 2014.“Although it is has been planned, it is very unlikely that the construction of Bairabi-Sairang Railway will be completed by 2014. This is because of the selfish people who expect huge compensation; there is problem in executing the work,” Lalthanhawla said.Speaking during the MPCC political session at Congress Bhavan on Saturday, Lalthanhawla rapped the opposition Mizo National Front for distributing “small quantity of charcoal” amidst gas crisis. “They (MNF youths) thought that they put shame on the Congress government, but they actually brought shame and dishonour upon their leaders” Lalthanhawla said.Lalthanhawla also said that, most number of actions against government workers has been taken under the Congress government. This shows that “the Congress Ministry is free from corruption, and therefore dares to punish the corrupt, which is a matter to be proud of,” Hawla said.Regarding the just concluded Assembly session, Lalthanhawla said the session was held in a very fair and peaceful manner. It was an exemplary one indeed, owing to the good conduct of the members and the excellent supervision of the Speaker, Lalthanhawla added.
