Title - Assam Times - Landslips hit train service atop hills

Over 3000 passengers have been remaining stranded on way to Haflong because of landslips at over 50 locations along the Lumding-Badarpur hill section since the Tuesday. These people are bound to Dima Hasao district in four trains. The Up Cachar Express proceeding from Silchar to Lumding is stranded at Maibang station and Down Cachar Express at Harangajao. Both Up Lumding-Agartala Express and Down Lumding-Agartala Express are stranded at Lower Haflong.

According to Northeast Frontier Railway, the track restoration works are going on. On the other hand, severe landslips duo to heavy rains has also disrupts normal movement of vehicles to Manipur and Mizoram. Army, the Assam rifles and the CRPF, besides local NGOs, had been roped in to provide food and water to the stranded passengers.
