The Judicial Magistrate First Class court has issued an arrest warrant against Hubli-Dharwad West MLA, Chandrakant Bellad, and former chairman of the Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) Datta Dorle, here on Wednesday, after they failed to attend court proceedings.On January 26, 2011, the Bharatiya Janata Party had called for a nationwide protest demanding that the Union Government allow the hoisting of the national tricolour at Lal Chowk in Jammu and Kashmir.

A protest was staged at the Dharwad Railway Station. Mr. Bellad, Mr. Dorle, Dharwad Rural MLA Seema Masuti, Deputy Mayor Bharati Patil, councillor Shivu Hiremath and others staged a rail roko, briefly halting the journey of the Sharavati Express. The Railway Police had filed a case against the five.On Wednesday, the JMFC court took up the case and held Mr. Bellad accused no. one and Mr. Dorle, accused no, two. It issued the arrest warrant against the both for failing to attend court proceedings. However, Ms. Masuti, Ms. Patil and Mr. Hiremath appeared in court, and were granted bail.
