Title - All India SC, ST railway employees protest for demands

Kathua: All India SC, ST Railway Employees Union today held a meeting at Kathua Railway Station. During this meeting various problems being confronted by railway employees were discussed. They discussed about scarcity of employees, unavailability of facilities being given to employees, pending backlog, worrisome condition of their quarters and many other problems. General Secretary of the branch Ashok Bhagat told that the employees are under pressure and in such a situation it becomes very difficult for them to work. He also criticized the contractual system for completion of railway works. He said that due to this system unemployment is increasing. Assistant Secretary Tarsem Khullar told that on Aug 22, their union protested at Delhi but government did not accede to their demand of promotion. He added that the union is making preparations to tackle those who are against reservation. DS Lati, Tilak Raj, Som Nath, Swarn Lal, Om Parkash, Harish Suba Singh, Ramesh, Lal Chand, Advocate Sushil Gupta and others were present on the occasion.
