Western railway has finally announced closer of Ahmedabad – Himmatnagar and Sanawad – Khandwa metre gauge railway line in order to convert them to brad gauge. From January 1, 2017 these metre gauge lines will be closed permanently and all the train services on these lines will come to an end. The proposal of conversion from metre gauge to broad gauge has been approved by Ministry of Railways on these routes pertaining to which from January 1st, 2017 all the metre gauge trains on Ahmedabad – Himmatnagar section and Sanawad – Khandwa sections will be permanently disabled. Train services at Himmatnagar – Khed Brahma section will also be permanently disabled due to conversion work on Ahmedabad – Himmatnagar section. Following trains will be permanently closed –
