AGARTALA: The Lumding-Agartala Express, which reached Agartala on Monday with 345 passengers on board, was the first train to reach here in 35 days. Railway links between Badarpur and Lumding was snapped on June 25 due to landslides at as many as 100 locations in the Hill section of southern Assam. The crisis resulted in a shortage of petroleum products, essential items and food products in Manipur, Mizoram, Barak Valley and Tripura over a month. |
