In just four round trips of Mumbai - Goa Tejas express as many as 337 headphones distributed to passengers for the entertainment systems were stolen. After this report now IRCTC has decided to provide low cost earphones from fifth trip onwards. Although IRCTC spokesperson did not confirm that how many headphones went missing but it confirmed that 1000 headphone costing Rs 30 each was bought. The stolen headphone costs Rs 200 each. What was even more discomforting for Railways is that after the last trip train came back with damaged infotainment systems, fewer headphone and waste strewn all around. “Many passengers do not return the headphones before alighting and take those with them thinking that its cost was included in their ticket fare,”said an attendant on the train. |
