A person, who had undergone surgery for obesity, died on Friday aboard Guwahati-bound Ernakulam Express, which had to be detained for four hours at Rangiya railway station to evacuate his body.Railway sources said that 28-year-old Sanjay Dey, who was returning after undergoing a robotic surgery in Chennai, died inside the train following a heart attack at Barpeta Road station.The train stopped at Rangiya station to offload Dey's body but his weight, which was reduced to 208 kg after the operation from the earlier 348 kg, posed difficulties.More than 20 porters were pressed into service to bring out the body from the train, the sources said. Dey, a resident of Laluk in Lakhimpur district, was accompanied by his elder brother Tapan. |
