Title - A Record Penalty Amount of Rs 5.85 Lakh Realized From Ticketless Travellers in Fortress Check Conduc

A record amount of  Rs 5.85 lakh was realized towards penalty from 1880  persons who were detected committing the offence of ticketless / irregular travel during a Fortress Check conducted at Secunderabad Railway Station from 04 00 hrs to 22 00 hrs o­n 19thSeptember, 2013 under the direct supervision of  Shri A. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway.

            This is the highest ever penalty amount realized in a day in any single ticket checking initiative at a Station o­n SCR. During the checks, the entire Station was fortified and all possible exit routes were sealed by Security Personnel. For carrying out the check, 150 Ticket checking staff, 24 Railway Protection Force  personnel including women constables were pressed into action under the direct supervision of Shri A. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway.  71 Express trains, 26  Passenger trains and 50 MMTS trins  were thoroughly checked without leaving any scope for the errants to escape.

The effect of the fortress check resulted in 7%  increase in the sale of journey tickets and 12% increase in the sale of platform tickets across the counters in the station.
