Jammu - Minister of State Power, CAPD and transport, Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that government was committed to provide improved facilities to the people across the state.He said during the past over three years massive development has taken place in all the three regions of the State and people have acknowledged the change as good.Addressing largely attended public meeting today at border village Kakara in Rajouri, the Minister said that government has been working under a well-knit programme to upgrade basic infrastructure in the hilly and rural areas. He said coalition government committed to ensure all round development and providing justice to all sections of the society.The Minister complimented Centre Government especially the UPA chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for providing liberal financial assistance to the State for all round development. He also hailed for sanctioning of Jammu-Poonch railway track, which he said would help boosting the economy of Rajouri and Poonch districts and cut distance of travelling besides exploring. Listing various achievements of the government, Shabir said that conduct of panchayat election, promulgation of Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA), strengthening of GC and SAC are land mark decisions taken by the government and with these, the administration has been made more accountable and transparent.Responding to the demands of people the Minister said that to improve power facility in the area, construction of receiving station Gambir Bramna is apace at a cost of Rs. 2.60 crore and would be completed during this financial year.The Minister also inaugurated a Pulse Polio campaign at PHC Manjakote. He gave pulse polio drops to children. He said Government endeavours to provide quality and modern health care facility to the people, adding that numerous steps have been taken during last three year in this regard. He said children are the future builders of the nation and providing better healthcare facilities to them is the top priority of the govt. |
