Tamil Nadu Police and IOB registered victories over Customs and Southern Railway respectively in the men’s division of the Vollys Club State-level volleyball tournament here.The results : Men : Tamil Nadu Police bt Customs 25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24; IOB bt Southern Railway 25-18, 25-22, 30-28; SDAT bt Tamil Nadu Police 25-23, 25-21,14-25, 25-22.

Women: JBAS bt St. Joseph’s 25-21, 25-23.

MCC office-bearers

D. Subramanyam and Srivatasan Subramaniam were elected as President and Secretary respectively of the Madras Cricket Club (MCC) for the year 2012-13 at the AGM recently.

Hat-trick by Ghandhi

Ghandhi’s hat-trick led Diwakar Memorial HC to an 8-0 win over Kottur Full Moon in the Chennai Hockey Association First Division league here.

Ayyachami-Sampath pair corners glory

The team of S. Ayyachami and R. Sampath Kumar won with a score of 61.82 IMPs playing North-South, while K. Subramanian and J.P. James, with 58.15 IMPs, came first from the East-West direction in the TNSC weekly bridge tournament here on Tuesday.
