Ramdev's protest march and his detention by the police resulted in the entry to Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi railway station getting clogged through the day on Monday. All roads leading to Ajmeri Gate were blocked by the police in order to maintain law and order. Thousands had begun


walking to the Parliament from Ramlila Maidan after Ramdev gave a call for the march at 1pm. Minto road, the connecting road to Ajmeri Gate side, remained blocked till 8pm, resulting in major inconvenience to passengers heading to or leaving the railway station. Police had also barricaded Ranjit Singh flyover and Delhi Gate road to stop protesters from marching towards the Parliament.
"The police had barricaded the roads and there was no way to get to the station. I missed the train to Haridwar at 3:20pm because I couldn't reach on time," said Ashwani Tyagi, a resident of IP extension in East Delhi.

Auto and taxi drivers refused to take passengers due to the roads begin blocked. "I kept looking for an autorickshaw at the station for almost half an hour but nobody was ready to go. I eventually took the Metro," said Archit Jain, a resident of Meerut.
