MUMBAI: A crucial cable-stayed Metro bridge over the Western Express Highway (WEH) above Jog flyover was completed on Saturday. The bridge has been built 21m above the road level and features cable-stayed pillars of 39m height. Metro rakes will ply on the bridge, one of the highest suspended bridges for any Metro in Asia, just 6.4m above Jog flyover.

With 70% of the work on a Metro bridge above the suburban railway tracks near Andheri station now complete, officers involved in the construction have heaved a sigh of relief. The bridge is likely to be completed by September-end.
