Jaipur: In a major turn of events, GuJjar leader Attar Singh Bhadana and his group, who had detached from the agitation due to internal difference after 2008, have extended their supporter to Col Kirori Singh Bainsla and Gurjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti for the fresh round of agitations for five per cent reservation in SBC category set to begin from today. The new development not only adds number and strength to the community, but is also a cause of worry among political parties which planned to benefit from the rift.“In a special meeting of community leaders, Attar Singh Bhadana and his group extended their support to Col Bainsla. The entire community has accepted Bainsla as their undisputed leader and we have decided to hold agitation under his leadership,” said Himmat Singh, spokesperson of Gurjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti.Earlier, Col Bainsla and other leaders, including Attar Singh Bhadana, Devki Nandan Kaka and Hari Singh Mahuwa had met at Kamri to weed out the mutual differences and strengthen the agitation and united. However, Bhadana and group have demanded to hold a meeting at Sikandra on September 5 despite Bainsla holding a meeting on September 4.Meanwhile, several leaders have demanded that state union minister Sachin Pilot should be called and requested to present the community’s demands before the Union government.

Gurjar leaders have appealed to the entire community to converge near Panchana Dam in Karauli on September 4. Leadres informed that once people reach Karauli, decisions on how the protest will advance will be taken there.

Sources informed that Gurjars will give a few days to the government before intensifying the agitation. “It’s raining and it will be difficult for us to stay on the tracks. So, bearing in mind their own convenience, our leaders will give some time to state government before serving an ultimatum,” said a Gurjar leader.
