Title - First MFC of Indian Railways at Rajahmundry

The South Central Railway (SCR) will come up with a Multi-Functional Complex (MFC) at Rajahmundry railway station for providing quality services to the passengers. The MFC is first of its kind on the Indian Railways. The complex, which accommodates a restaurant, shopping mall, budget hotel, food court and other premium services, will be inaugurated shortly. The SCR has allotted the construction work of the complex to an agency.“This MFC is of a business model. An agreement has been signed with KEI-Rajamahendri Resorts Private Limited, which has deposited Rs.68.04 lakh as security and performance guarantee,” SCR Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar told this correspondent.

10 Escalators proposed
The SCR has proposed to install 10 escalators, including three each in Vijayawada and Nellore railway stations and two each in Rajahmundry and Tenali stations at a cost of Rs.12 crore.Two lifts were being constructed at Vijayawada and Tenali stations at a cost of Rs.2.40 crore and three more are planned at Ongole, Eluru and Anakapalli stations, Mr. Pradeep Kumar said.
