Title - CRS to inspect doubling railway track of Southern Railway

The Southern Railway administration has asked the Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) to inspect and to give his mandatory clearance to the newly-laid 25 km length doubling railway track between Valadi and Kallakudi Pazanganatham near here, according to Southern Railway General Manager Rakesh Mishra.

In his informal chat with newspersons here today soon after inagurating Rs 3.2 crore integrated security system at Railway junction, he said the CRS will inspect the work within a month.

Doubling work underttaken by the Rail Vigas Nigam Ltd, is now carrying out the doubling work between Kallakudi Pazanganatham and Ariyalur with a distance of 25 km and it is expected to be completed by September-October this year, he added.

He said the southerm Railway has identified 14 important railway stations including Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore and Tiruchirapalli Junction to introduce the integrated Security system at a cost of Rs 40 crore of which the system has commenced so far in six Railway stations, he added.

Earlier, Mr Mishra inspected various instalation of the Tiruchirapalli division of the Southern railway, as part of his annual inspection
