In a unique gesture, the Superintendent of Police (Urban) S. Shyam Sunder released stickers and posters containing his contact and email address urging people in distress to contact him anytime.

Crowded places
He said the stickers would be pasted at important junctions, bus stands, railway stations, hotels, cinema halls, colleges and other places that are frequented by people in large numbers.According to the SP , this measure was aimed at controlling anti-social elements, preventing illegal land occupations that have become rampant in urban areas in the recent past, besides solving law and order issues.SP Shyam Sunder told press persons that the affected persons could contact him on the following mobile number: 9491089100 or email their grievances to ‘warangalurbansp@gmail.com’.“The email account is being operated by me and I will go through the complaints,” he assured.

Special focus
He said that special focus was on increasing incidents of chain snatchings in town. Police personnel in ‘mufti’ were being deployed at sensitive locations across town. Likewise, night patrolling too has been intensified.

The SP urged the people to supplement the efforts of the police and keep them informed from time to time.
