Title - Tatkal scheme: Original ID cards a must

Based on the reports that the Tatkal scheme is still being misused by a certain section of the public, the Thiruvananthapuram Railway division officials have strictly reiterated that passengers are requested to produce their original identity cards at the time of booking Tatkal tickets.

These rules were put in place a few months ago to ensure that genuine passengers alone get the benefit of the scheme.

The condition that the original ID cards must be necessarily carried during travel is also printed on the ticket so as to assist the passengers.

All passengers are requested to cooperate with this rule which would otherwise deem them as someone who is travelling without ticket, stated a press release.
