Title - 100 special trains to run for Simhastha

According to sources, gauge conversion will be done between few stations and a new railway station will be constructed at Binjana on Ujjain-Indore route. Indore station will also be upgraded.

In a bid to facilitate the passengers coming from different parts of the country during Simhastha (Kumbh), West Central Railway (WCR) railways has plan to run 100 special trains.It has also prepared work plans for development of infrastructure at different railways stations including Indore besides security of passengers during the mega event.According to sources, gauge conversion will be done between few stations and a new railway station will be constructed at Binjana on Ujjain-Indore route. The railway stations of Indore, Mhow, Rau and Ujjain will be upgraded. New platforms will come up at these stations and a new foot overbridge will also be constructed at Ujjain.PRO of Ratlam division of West Central Railways (WCR) Pradeep Sharma said that railway has plans to run 100 special trains during Simhastha.Railways will also upgrade Indore station which will include gauge conversion of Mhow, Rau, Tehi and Pithampur tracks.Three new platforms will be constructed at Indore station while platform number 4 will be expanded to accommodate 24 coach trains.Mhow railway station is being developed as a major source station to reduce pressure at Ujjain during Simhastha.Two new platforms will be constructed at Ujjain taking total number of platforms to nine. Advance digital equipments, CVCTV cameras, metal detectors etc would be installed at railway stations. RPF and GRP booths will also be established for security of pilgrims expected in several lakhs.
