Title - Chennai Sun-urban train service added 8 lakh commuters in last 7 days

In Chennai there is a sudden spike in number of passengers opting Sub-Urban trains for their daily commutes. As figures suggests - 8 lakhs passengers switched to suburban trains in last seven days. However, rail officials say that this is temporary hike as recently Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) hiked bus fares.

MTC officials too confirmed that a drastic decrease in number of daily commuters using MTC buses, particularly deluxe buses; had happened but this is just temporary and MtC believe that they will back to usual numbers. In the past, it has always come back to usual levels in a few months’ time.
