A delegation of Members of Parliament (MPs) from Karnataka, led by MP of Dharwad and State BJP president Pralhad Joshi urged the Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge to take steps to launch the services of new trains as announced in the Railway Budget of 2013-14.The delegation, comprising of MPs G.M. Siddheshwar, Ramesh Jigajinagi and P.C. Gaddigoudar, met Mr. Kharge in New Delhi on Tuesday and urged him to take requisite steps. The delegation told Mr. Kharge that the new train between Hubli-Mumbai was being stopped at Kurla, which made it difficult for passengers to proceed to other places and also other localities within Mumbai. Extending the train up to Dadar would help passengers, they said. They also told Mr. Kharge that the present timings of the new train was inconvenient. They said that although the announcement regarding running the Yashwanthpur-Nizamuddin Sampark Kranti Express via Tumkur, Davanagere and Hubli-Dharwad for two more days in a week had been made, it was not yet running according to the announcement.Mr. Joshi said that although the survey on a new railway line between Dharwad and Belgaum via Bailhongal had been completed two years ago, nothing was being done. |
