Title - Railway officials inspect Tirupur railway station

G. Narayanan, Additional General Manager of Southern Railway, and Sujatha Jayaraj, Divisional Railway Manager (Salem Division), inspected Tirupur railway station on Friday.

Level crossings

Official sources told The Hindu that the traffic along railway level crossings No: 132 and 133 along Tirupur-Uthukuli stretch and the facilities at the good shed were reviewed by the officials.

Modernisation

project

Under a modernisation project, works had already been taken up at the Tirupur railway station to improve the circulating area to facilitate parking of more vehicles and remove the bottlenecks that cause hindrance to the movement of passengers.

Foot over bridge

Some of the major demands from the passengers’ associations had been the need for providing platform shelter for its full stretch and one more foot over bridge, which were yet to be fulfilled.
