Pune: National Congress Party MP Vandana Chavan and city MP Suresh Kalmadi on Sunday night flagged off the new bi-weekly Pune-Amravati-Pune Express from Pune railway station. The train would leave Pune every Friday and Sunday at 10 pm and reach Amravati the next day at 3:00 pm. Similarly, the train from Amravati would depart every Monday and Saturday at 6:30 pm and reach Pune the next day at 1:15 pm. There would be 15 coaches in the train including one II AC, one III AC, five sleeper coaches and six general unreserved coaches. The Railways introduced this train after the announcement was made in last year's railway budget. "Pune is an educational hub which attracts several students. The train would benefit people from those regions through which it passes," remarked Chavan.
