In view of the forthcoming holiday rush, the City police have taken the following measures to ensure smooth flow of traffic and reduce the traffic congestion on routes from Bangalore City Railway Station to Kempe Gowda Bus terminal.While, private vehicle parking has been banned on Dhanvanthri Road, Railway Station Road, Tank Bund Road, Platform Road and Khoday’s junction, all buses going towards Mysore, Kodagu and Kerala will start from Mysore Road Bus Terminal.Likewise, buses towards Tamil Nadu will commence from Shanthinagar bus terminal.Buses going towards Davanagere will ply from Chikka Lalbhagh bus terminal. Similarly, long distance idle parking of transport buses is restricted to Balekai Mandi, Jakkarayanakere, NGEF Terminal and New Peenya Bus terminal. The police have requested commuters to use BMTC bus or autorickshaw to come to City railway station or KSRTC bus terminal to travel outside Bangalore City.Passengers travelling to Mysore and beyond should compulsorily go to Mysore Road Bus Terminal. Passengers travelling to destinations in Tamil Nadu such as Chennai, Trichy, Karaikudi, Pudukottai, Tanjavur, Coimbatore, Madurai & Kumbakonam should board KSRTC and SETC premier buses from Shanthinagar Bus Station.Whereas those travelling to Villapuram, Dharmapuri, Salem, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore via Hosur in Tamil Nadu Corporation buses should board at Mysore Road Bus Terminal. To travel to Shimoga and beyond passengers must go to Yeshwantpur TTMC. |
