Kalka: A delegation of railway unions, headed by advocate VK Bansal, recently met Pawan Kumar Bansal, Union Railway Minster.Stating this, Pushpinder Sharma, branch secretary of the Northern Railwaymen’s Union (NRMU), said the delegation which included Som Nath, president, and Sanjeev Kohli, submitted a memorandum to the Railway Minister related to various demands.The memorandum stated that the railway employees were facing many problems like the deteriorating state of residential houses in railway colonies, the deplorable condition of the only Railway Community Centre of Kalka and the Railway Institute, lack of basic amenities in the Railway hospital and demanded the starting of a local train between Kalka and Chandigarh.The memorandum also sought starting of a Central School in Kalka. |
