  • Deen Dayalu Coaches - To improve quality of travelling in general class Railways rolled out Deen Dayalu Coaches with on-board RO filters, mobile charging points, bio toilets, cushion luggage racks, coat hooks and additional hand hold in doorway area.
  • Executive Lounges - IRCTC and SSP Catering India have collaborated to set up a five star waiting lounge for the passengers at New Delhi Station to offer home like comfort and hotel like luxuries at affordable price.
  • Gatiman Express – Indian Railway’s first train that can cover 200km distance between Delhi and Agra in 100 minutes.
  • CNG train – World’s first train that runs on green fuel.
  • Privitisation of catering in trains.
  • Talgo: A step towards bullet train dreams.
  • Operation five minutes – Railway wants to bring down the maximum time taken to buy a ticket at counters to five minutes.
  • Project Nilgiri – Indian Railways and Google came up with Project Nilgiri to set up WiFi hotspots at around 400 railway stations across India.
  • Bio Toilets - Stepping up efforts to make environment better, the railways has set a target to install bio-toilets in all coaches to ensure the entire rail network as zero discharge zone by 2019.
