Title - Woman's decomposed body found in train

GUWAHATI: The decomposed body of a woman was recovered from Guwahati-bound Avadh Assam express train on Friday morning. The body was found in a plastic drum kept beside the toilet in a sleeper coach of the train that reached the railway station here from Lalgarh junction of Rajasthan.

A patrolling team of railway protection force ( RPF) found a sack while checking the empty train around 4 am at the Guwahati railway station after its arrival around 3.40 am. After the sleuth opened the sack, they saw a drum, inside which the body was found.

"She was probably killed around four to five days back and then put in the drum. The body is slightly decomposed. We guess she was around 28 years old. As the train came traveling from several states and stations, it's very difficult to trace her identity and location. We have sent her body for autopsy," said D Hazarika, the officer-in-charge of GRP, Guwahati railway station.

Police suspected that the women might have been raped and then killed before being put in the drum.
