MUMBAI: A day after his suspension, Western Railway cancelled the allotment of quarters from which Babulal Narayandas Verma (55), an area manager, who allegedly conducted a flesh trade. A senior official said, "We will issue a foolproof chargesheet against Verma that will lead to his dismissal from service. The Railway Protection Force will maintain a vigil at all railway quarters in the city."Verma, arrested by the social service branch for allegedly running the racket from his quarters, got in touch with victims at pubs. A diary seized from him contained 18 contact numbers, which the police suspect were of victims.The social service branch had raided Verma's quarters at Marine Lines on Saturday and arrested him under the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act. He was remanded to police custody till March 16. The case was transferred to the LT Marg police on Monday. Police said Verma used to visit bars and pubs regularly and got in touch with the four victims who were rescued on Saturday night. Three victims, who were above 18, were sent to the women's shelter home in Govandi, while a minor was sent to the children's home in Dongri. The police have seized Rs 1.09 lakh, a cell phone and identity card. | ||
